There are at least four good reasons for eating organic:
- Less pesticides, chemicals, antibiotics, hormones and health hazards;
- More nutrients and health benefits;
- Tastes better;
- Promotes ecological farming practices.
Most people don’t make the switch to naturally-grown overnight, but if you want a good place to start, the list below should help you to select foods that are less heavily contaminated with pesticide and insecticide residues.
Buying conventional produce from local farmers also has benefits. As a general rule, the less produce has to travel, the fresher and more nutrient-rich it remains.
