Give yourself a facial massage

Some people are scared to touch their faces, and anxious that too much movement leads to wrinkling. The truth is -- a good facial massage would have prevented this from happening in the first place! The facial massage improves the flow of oxygen to the skin, boosts collagen and elastin production, keeps the lymph flowing (so dispelling toxins), and ensures that the skin glows beautifully, as well as reducing facial tension.

You will need a massage oil that’s suitable for your skin type. For dry or aging skin, use apricot, avocado or wheat germ oil. Almond, sunflower or sesame oil will be good for normal skin. For oily skin, use hazelnut, peach kernel, or thistle oil.

Facial massage should not be done if there are open sores, boils, cuts or recent scar tissue on the face, and if the skin is inflamed or bruised. As well, facial massage may irritate and worsen such skin conditions as acne, psoriasis or eczema.

The pressure you would exert during a face massage is a gentle light friction.
